Where do the figures come from?
A US adult height reference (NHANES), ages 20 and over, with height treated as normally distributed. Two limits follow and the tool states both: height distributions differ sharply between countries and generations, so a percentile against this reference is not your percentile at home; and the normal approximation is good near the mean and less reliable at the extremes. Below 20 the tool declines to answer at all — growth is still in progress, and an adult reference would simply be wrong.
